Hi all
I have the opportunity to buy a 2013 Naish Mana 8'10" in excellent condition. I weigh 85 kg and 180cm. I can paddle well on flat water but this will be my first attempts in waist to chest high waves. Is this a suitable board for my needs? General comments about the board in general welcome.

How much surfing have you done, and how sloppy are the conditions at your local break?

The reason I ask is that I have a 2013 Mana 9'5" and am 5kgs lighter than you. I surf mainly at a really choppy break which has lots of rocky headlands and rocky outcrops - I'm often thankfull for that little extra bit of stability of the 9'5".

If you've done a fair bit of surfing already and are going to be surfing in clean conditions I reckon it will rip. The other thing is that you won't be painting yourself into a corner with this board - If you decide to go to a more advanced surfing model, this one would on-sell pretty easy.

I've been a surfer on longboards but not SUP in the surf. Sandy beach and not huge surf. In general at they a good board?

Absolutely, the tail rail & rocker is really dialled in for smaller waves, the Mana rail turns like a surfboard. Also the tail is small enough that you can stand right back & stall it if you're caught in a sucky section and want to straighten up. They are a really well-balanced shape. Now that I've done a bit of surf paddling I'd buy that same board, the 8'10", in an instant!
