I'm looking at purchasing this board predominantly for flat water and ripple riding but would like to get into downwinders as well.
I'm 105kg , 178 cm tall and an intermediate paddler.
Just wanting to get any feedback on the Naish Glide and also the shape of the 2013 compared to later model Naish Glides
Thanks

I had a 2016-17 Glide and it was great for paddling but not so much for DW runs although if you are good enough it will do the job. Great board and moves on the water really well and is super stable, sometimes I do miss it until Iift my carbon board above my head then I remember why I changed.

The 2013 has a massive amount of rocker up the front. So there's about a foot up out of the water when paddling. If you can find a 2014 then it's a much better option. The 2014 is also much more stable. Better for bigger blokes

I think it might be the 2014 model you are referring to mate ( i could be wrong but from memory the 2013 only came in 27 and didn't have the GX as an option ) If it helps , I've owned a 2014 14 x 29 GX Naish Glide for about 4 years and absolutely love it . super stable , very capable on flatwater and great fun to surf runners or DW . I'm regulary on the Sunny coast so just PM me if you ever want to take it out for a demo

Nlakes this is a picture of the board and is carbon brushed on the bottom. Is it similar to yours?

Loved my 2014-2015 Glide. Still the most comfortable board to paddle in all conditions I have owned. Naish missed the mark discontinuing this shape and not offering it in different widths, and producing it in higher numbers in the GX-carbon. The shape was rock solid in quartering, cross chop, it down winded well and was just a really good all around board. A good option for the heavier paddler that wanted to do everything. The Glide design that replaced this one has the downturned nose, and it's just a different design that went in another direction.

The weight in GS was the downside, and durability on the rails was quite bad for a board that weighed 35 pounds+.
