I knew Aidan from Naish was in town so I stopped off to check out the action at St Kilda before our down-winder today.
The Naish boards looked good.. The weather looked awful.. unless you're doing a down-winder.
Nice deck pad on the new 11'4" Nalu.. if you're a hippie.
The new Naish paddles looked very nice.
This is the new 8" next to the new 7".. It's great to see Naish doing smaller blades.
The new RipCurl boards looks pretty good.. The big 11'6" was an old SouthPoint Kalama with RipCurl stickers.
I liked the retro RipCurl sticker.. Reminds me of my days on the RipCurl team.
A lull in the wind and someone decides to demo a 10' Mana.. wearing a hoodie.. Was it cold.. Yeah.
Moments later a 40 knot gust heads down the beach and you can see the dark line coming across the water.. then boards were flying down the beach.
We then headed off on our down-winder and about an hour later stopped off at Green Point so we could all regroup.
One of the windsurfing guys wanted to have a go on a stand up board for the first time and took the Naish 14 for a spin.. and he was hooked.
The wind really kicked to over 40 knots and turned slightly offshore and Paul had to resort to knee paddling to get around the corner.
My Naish 14 and Paul's 12'6" Pin on the roof of Paul's PT Cruiser.
