Hi, I am looking for any tips on purchasing my first board. I am 164cm & 53kg Looking for an allrounder for cruising and small wave surfing. I know my kids will be keen to have a go too :-)
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
There are stacks to choose from and can be seriously confusing. The most important thing is to find a board you are comfortable with. If you can, get into your local shops and Demo, demo, demo. What is a great board for one person may not be right for another. Personally I would recommend something in the 9'6 to 10'6 range for someone your weight. I would be looking primarily at your Naish in either the Quest or Nalu, Fanatic in the Fly, Starboard in the Drive and F-One Manawa. These boards are all extremely well designed and represent great value for money. They are also backed by the strongest distributers in the country as well as having a strong dealer network. Don't be afraid to ask questions and demand answers. It is important you get the board that is best for your needs.
