Can you surf swells on the takuma efoil. Without the prop acting as a break.
Or is there any talk of putting a jet propulsion on mast in lieu of propellor.

The Takuma is definitely not designed for the waves . They are more easy to ride cruisers . The Fliteboard or Lift are more high performance efoils and better suited for waves , although they both have not been designed for waves but you can ride small clean spilling waves . Lift now have a folding prop , which I have ridden. You can get on a bump and free ride but it's still pretty hard . You get so much torque from the motor which you lean against so when you shut off throttle your feet and weight is all wrong as the boards are heavy with big swing weight . But yes it is possible but don't expect to ride it like a Sup foil .

No it's the board weight , you are talking about 35kg powered rig vs a 10 to 15 kg free Sup board and foil . Swing weight is a killer . No matter how much run you get on a powered rig , when you shut it down and try and glide , you have a monkey on your back . Forget about motor drag it's better to keep some power on , which nullifies the drag . It's the overall weight of the battery board and motor that kills it.
