Got asked this on another thread " How do No Limitz measure their mast length" not only did I check measure my NL's I also did all my other brand mast and was shocked to see all the differences.

NL 85cm is 85cm from the bottom of the base plate to the end of the carbon ,plus the 30mm Alloy insert so 88cm overall .

Axis Ali 75cm is 73cm from the bottom of the base plate to the end of the mast ,plus the 30mm Dodad insert so 76cm overall

Cabrinha Carbon 80cm is 78.5cm from the bottom of the base plate to top of fuse ,plus the 35mm insert so 81.7 cm overall

Cabrinha Ali 90cm is 88cm from the bottom of the base plate to top of fuse ,plus the 35mm insert so 91.5 overall

Takuma Carbon one piece 75cm is 72cm from the bottom of the base plate to top of fuse ,plus fuse so 75cm overall

Neil Pryde Carbon 65cm is 65cm from the bottom of the base plate to top of fuse , plus 10mm insert so 66cm overall

What does all that mean.

No Limitz & Neil Pryde measure to the top of the fuse for official length .

Axis & Cabrinha measure to apx mid section of the fuselage for official length .

Takuma measure to the bottom of the fuse for official length .

There you have it folks a 75cm mast from different brands could actually be up to 25mm (1") shorter or longer. Please feel free to add other brands.

Thanks for the data! I think what matters in the end is the distance (height) between the board track and the front wing tips, to know how much clearance you have before breaching. Following that logic, middle of the fuse height with cabrinha is a decent measure as their front wing sits in the middle of the fuse height. Whatever manufacturers choose, it would greatly help if they clearly state the dimensions of every component so that people can compare things properly.

No that's from another foil universe question , absolutely nothing to do with this, no amount of scaling rule information will stop a head dip. Too much gluehwein....

What's strange is that even within a same brand they're not the same between ali and carbon which is the case of my 2 takuma 75cm masts (the new carbon)

can you tell me the length of the new takuma from bottom of the baseplate to the top of fuselage. In other words the length of the mast not including the bit that goes inside the fuselage.

FYI the 75 unifoil is the full 75cm of visible mast (bit that goes in fuse is additional to that)
