I notice it doesn't show the take off. I would imagine it would be assisted in flat water??

Not necessarily. The foils seem huge in order to get a ton of lift. If you look closely, the board clearly lifts a lot at the start of the paddle stroke.

The question is of course, is it faster than a normal board? With these huge foils come a lot of drag, so does having enough lift to stay above the water implies more or less drag than you regular raceboard?

Remember very early days in development. In the next few years I am sure in all aspects of foil disciplines current designs will seem primitive and inefficient.

yep need a longer paddle ...very entertaining ...looks like a lot of carbon invested in that ..board .or sup .

i would like to see how hard he has to paddle to get it up and going ,..i think he needs two size paddles ...

maybe we will see another sport come out of this ,,,like a 3 or 4 or more .man team paddle board ...

or a dragon boat on foils ...

next water olympic s maybe .
