Well tried my mates foil board for first time.
Yep. Very difficult to ride.
When I first saw these things they looked like an aeroplane & I thought these things are meant for flying not swimming. I was right. Space shuttle paddleboard headed for Mars! Lol! We never got to ride the thing cause it just shot off into the air. And when I tried to keep it onto the wave I just got dumped & it slammed me! 4 bruises & a deep cut to my finger so called it a day. Lol!
Extremely diffficult to ride.
Now we just gotta find a boat to have a tow session to try it out.

You need to pack that back of that foil plate 8 to 10mm . It's leaning back it has to be 90 degrees to the deck. It will be so hard to ride set up like that.

I'm with you Piros. I had a feeling the tail rocker might affect it. Was going to tell my mate to move foil all way forward on stick mount.
But like you said. It still may need packing.

Foil is not very hard or dangerous is you read thoroughly a lot of advice, and learn gently, step by step, for instance try not to raise out of the water on the first rides, take time to learn the foil reaction while still underwater, or spend time behind a boat.

However, just winging it and all hell can break loose awfully fast, with (expensive) gear and body damage.

I advise to alternate theoretical learning sessions (texts, videos) with practice sessions, as once on the water you forget 90% of what you have read due to the adrenaline rush, and you better understand the pieces of advice once you have encountered the problems first hand.

Do not hesitate to use a board you are stable on. And to add fins in the rear boxes for the first sessions if you have too much row effect. You want to have only the foil in mind and be comfortable enough with the SUPing part to forget it.

PS: Like Piros said, a negative angle of attack of the wing will make it insanely hard.

Totally agree with you Colas. I have read everything & watched heaps of video footage.
So I was saying to just try & surf the rolling swell only to get a feel for it. But, I knew this board is very slow due to its rocker & has no glide compared to other boards with less rocker, more length & parallel rails.
So had to get close as possible with breaking wave, but had to take a chance on getting central stance which would have only been luck.
The Corban Hyper is great for late take offs & steep drops. Not what foiling is for I know. But I reckon it would be great for a foil board once you you get it up.
I have got a Hyper myself & still considering attaching a foil when I finally save the big dollars to buy one.
I am seriously considering getting US fin boxes installed on both my Coreban Hyper which is 7ft long & my JP 8ft 2" wide body 32" wide which I believe would be the best board to learn on. It has great glide very little yaw & stable enough to get into early central surf stance.
