I am after a foil/setup for my son who wants to maximise uptime connecting waves/bumps while prone surfing (beach break).. ideally for 30minutes or more.

Before you laugh... he is pretty good at pumping (he has done 2.5 minutes on a lake dock starting on an old v1 Axis PNG1310) and he is very fit .. but 90kgs lean as.

The PNGs are a dog in the waves and he recently tried my ART v2 999 which he loved but needs a few sessions to dial in the new technique required for pumping a high aspect foil.

Due to his weight and goals of 30min+ uptime I was looking at an ART v2 1099 but is there anything that would suit him better (Surge looks like it has potential and forgiving but is 1010 big enough)? Would consider switching brands if compelling enough reason.

Also.. we only have the 19mm aluminium masts and an old Short Black fuse with 375 and 425 Progressive tails.

Would love some input into what gear is going to help him blow past 30mins as he is super dedicated.

Just driving back from the Vaikobi Down wind race in Sydney. Absolutely terrible conditions but I couldn't believe what I witnessed in basically no wind or swell the Sup foil DW girls did the whole race without coming down . One of the stand out foils was the new Code 1250r

I watched these guys paddle up in 3 strokes and pump without using their paddle against the wind and swell apx 1km from the bay to around the headland and foil back it was insane the watch , the foil is so efficient it looks like a foil drive I'm sure you son could pump this forever it's just so fast on the pump and it looks effortless . Definitely worth a look .Code also has a new pump foil range coming out for the dock starting crew released mid year .

Interesing. Just mentioned this to my son and he said absolutely.. he would much rather use gear that he can stay up for longer than one that turns better (this is the guy who paddles into waves with the old PNG1310... no idea how he controls that beast).

He said his goal would definitely be to stay up for the whole session ... if he had the right gear. He said once he's nailed that, then he would look at foils that can turn better.

So you think the Code R 1250 would be the right size? Also what will be difference between these and their new dock start/pumping foils?

What is the technique for pumping super high AR foils?

I have done over an hour on this www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/one-foils/p/1049-ha-all-around which is bit of an all rounder wing but lately I have been using the 1080 Accelerate DW wing www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/one-foils/p/accelerate-dw-foil-wings and will do about 5-20 mins each time I'm up, I am 82kg and 49 so I'm sure someone younger could go all day.
Both of these wings are also compatible with the black fuse if that is what you have.

Definitely a thinner mast will help as well as you get into more efficient wings as nothing worse than having a nice fast wing with a draggy mast.

It will take a bit to get used to the faster wings coming of such a big surface area wing but once you get used to the extra glide you can never go back. Just a option without having to change everything anyway??

Yeah Jacko's set up is very good and best price on the market ATM . definetly worth a look.
