Verdict - if you are into finding hills, and going down hill, go for the set-up that Maui Byron has posted. But if you are after lighter, shorter, more user friendly on the flats, and general flat skating fun, surf carve fun, then I would probably choose this Sector 9 Ala Moana Bamboo Flex Deck. The longer bamboo decks are better again for walking, like a Malibu... cross step. This board is a great carver, rather than a nose rider... but you can nose ride it! You can carry this board in one hand by the Trucks (just) ... longer boards need to be carried like a surfboard.

Notice the Double King Pin through the trucks. It allows you to lay the deck right over, for tighter turns, whilst keeping the trucks flat on the ground....

General Assessment - mechanical movements required by the body are a cross between Skate, Snowboard, and Surfing. Great "rail to rail" type movement....
(The wife even likes it, and want a go. And she is considering getting into team OC paddling - she doesn't think she has the balance and skill for SUP)

I tried the Gullwing Sidewinders and while they turn well if your board has any width you need to go with 70mm wheels to avoid wheel bite. Right now I am using Seismecs with Surf Rodz and 80mm Kryptos on a 44' Dogtown. Nice ride but the Original trucks with 76mm whells on my 38" Sector Nine Trylam board turns the sharpest. Plus the reaction is quicker with the Seismecs and Originals then the Gullwings.

There's no Wheel Bite with this set-up, as the deck nose and tail is narrow, and with the riser pad, then board can't touch the touch wheels.

However, the deck does sit up higher than average, due to the trucks and riser.
