What no ankle strap

Apart from the long listful staring off into the distance shots that was epic. The shots at the end were worthy of the Lord of the Rings.

More KAI just because. He quotes his roots in Windsurfing which allowed for the 'easy' 20 foot air drop.

Also, I guess your lateral struts seem to provide some vertical stabilizing surfaces. I think SUP foils benefit a lot from some vertical rudder when I try to tighten my turns on the wave face

Just saw that the Red Manta foil company (whose boards are shaped by Blane Chambers) is also using a small rudder:

www.mantafoils.com/e-shop/Manta-mono-SUPFoil-p99517531

Note their interesting front wing design

I guess people found out that a small rudder is very useful for foils with a flat stab (like the G10 ones of the Manta...), but they are not needed with curved/canted/slanted stabs...

Hows where his back foot is , must take quiet a bit to get that foil up and he's pumping super hard. What foil and wing is it.

It is the Gong Allvator, standard 65cm mast and smallest M (70cm) wing. I think he is using a smaller kite stab, but I do not know which one (40 or 45cm?)

The other Gong "young god" surf foil rider, Beryl, also moves his back foot behind the mast when he wants to carve hard, but tend to move it in front of the mast to pump on the flat.

Their acceleration in turns is quite awesome... it is styrinking when you see both foilers in the image

Hey Piros, that movie of Kai doing the multi channel crossing is insane... Having done all the same races on my paddle board & now only just getting the hang of downwind foiling I can't wait to get back there to one day do an island crossing....Hopefully this year :)

This could be the longest video on here (by a bit). It's all done on "Nose Cam", so sorry if you don't like the angle, but I think it's kind of kewl and different. #nosecam

This is most of the footage from a fun 6.8km DW'er I did yesterday. Most will be bored, but some might enjoy seeing all of it. I cut out the 3 times I came off the foil. The first 5 minutes are a little more pumpy and slower as it was going out of Fishermans Beach (Brown Water) and not into the wind yet, but the middle section was really fun.

My 1km splits through the middle were around the 3:30 mark which I stoked with, just need to get better at not making mistakes with picking the patterns. When I'm on, it feels amazing and relaxed, when you mess it up (as you'll see) there is some paddle pumping to be done.

The gauge on the top left will show my speed and direction to help with understanding what is going on.

The wind went a little west at the end, but it was definitely one of the good ones.

Enjoy,

Ride safe,

Had a fun session today at 80ckZ.

Here's a couple of weaving glides on literally tiny swells. The primary swell was NE which is actually offshore at this location, but there was a 0.7m 15sec secondary swell and a 3rd at 0.3 20sec both from the south. This love riding high period, even if it is tiny.

Riding on the Naish Hover Surf 120 and Thrust Surf XXL.

Enjoy,

Ride safe,
