Just purchased a Naish Crossover after much thought . There was a debate on if it was worth having a board that could do it all. My reason for this board is I want to learn foil and eventually on waves but not really with a wing.. Yet

. I hope to use the windsurfing component of the board to learn foiling before SUPFoiling into waves. I'm 87 kg and spend a lot of time in the open ocean with a Naish Hokua 140lt so dropping down to the 7' 115 lt Crossover was a challenge.
First time out was 3-5' open ocean and the board was way too small and my skill and ambitions got mixed up

. A lot less drag on the leggy when I was getting smashed as the board is so small.
Second surf was 1-2 ft reef break and much better to find the skill to stay on the board. Got a few waves that I was happy with, the board turns and surfs well with it quad set up. A real skatey feel on the backhand. Might upgrade the fins down the track to give it a bit more bite. The board is reasonably stable with fins but doesn't have the glide of the large board so I'm taking off deeper than normal. Despite a low rocker line it handed the waves well.Really happy with these first sessions and can't wait for some wind to try the foil side on things.
