I am not very experienced with SUP and have started playing around with stand up paddling a foil board. First session today in flat water with foil attached went pretty well except had a real hard time paddling straight. Eventually figured out that leaning board over while pulling helps. People talk about adjusting path of blade but I could not make it work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm paddling a 6-5 JImmy Lewis Flying V, 115 L with armie 2400 attached. I weigh 70 kg.

Reach forward and outboard to start your paddle stroke. Make your stroke kind of curved a little bit - first out-to-in then back along the rail. Its a very subtle curve to the stroke that you'll refine with practice. Essentially in the very first part of your stroke, when your paddle is out in front of the center of mass you pull the nose back inline with where you want to go. Then in the rest of your stroke as you bring the paddle backwards, it knocks you back offline a little. I hope this helps, with time it will become natural. Sometimes I tilt the board a little towards the side I am paddling so the board's rocker can help counter the paddle turning the board.

Was also having trouble Paddling straight or direction changing with the shorter wider thicker Sup foil boards .Your video regards the J Stroke works a treat.
