g'day guys , brought a NP large as it was close to a grand ???? Unfortunately my bargain hunting may hurt my chances of flying as the more research I do the more I realise I may need a bigger wing ! I haven't brought a board yet because I am still trying to work out the wing dilemma although I do have my heart set on a 7'11x31x150 litre board I also went plate over Tuttle. I am 6'2 and 102 kg sup surf fine but no foiling yet .
should I just buy the board slap the wing on and see how I go or am I going to be fighting a impossible battle with the NP large wing which is about the size of the iwa I think in which case I will sell the NP spend the money on a axis xl and save for a few months for a board cheers

That's a very good bigger all round foil even at your size. Have you put in any sessions on other peoples kit?

Personally, I'd say get the board and go.

Depends totally on the waves you learn in. If they are tiny with no push you might struggle. Waist high and above you will be fine. I am the same dimensions and love the Axis 750 wing in slightly bigger waves. Spend some time behind a ski/boat to get it together and you should be fine. I learnt on a massive wing and that caused me some issues.
Wack it on a board and get out there.

The NP large has tons of lift , you'll be fine it's actually wider than the Go Foil IWA so plenty of wing. Because the NP large has so much lift I really struggle with it on my prone board it just boost me off on the take offs. Bolt it on your sup and go for it and if you are over foiling just slide back in the boxes for the first couple of sessions , then creep it forward when you get a bit more confident.

Cheers for the reply Hilly , unfortunately no tows so winter waves it is ???? Had some great advice from some of the foil crew up here about catching the white wash ball for that extra push .
