Episode 2 of the splurge.......Loaded Vanguard.
Sounded like their base model board.

42"
Specced with Flex 1 deck - 80 - 105+ kg. There are 5 different flexes for lower rider weights.
Bear Grizzly 181mm 52 deg. trucks.
Orangatang 80mm Kegel wheels.
Loaded Jehu V2 bearings.
Whatever all that means.
Bit worried I'm climbing back on the first floor balcony after the Pintail.

Construction and finish 100%, art restrained and tasteful.

Flex felt very flexy, particularly after the Pintail. Was worried I may have ordered the wrong flex for my 95 odd kg until I checked I had ordered the stiffest one.
Initial impression very nice, flex felt good, stiffness just right.
But Chrispy has me paranoid - I noticed it is harder to push with your foot off the higher deck. I was happily ignorant before.
Slightly longer course.
And took my Gopro.
Nice roll down and up through storm drain.

Underpass too scary - walked half way down.

I have rolled down that on the Classic to discover 2" of water in the bottom.
Ended badly.
Another storm drain - more frightening.

carves side to side very nicely, rolls easily.
Turn around point - handled the expansion joints no problem.

Very impressed - love the flex and the looser feel.
Stand by.....

Nice work nozza. I had tan tien and bhangra and was happy with them.

I love flex in a board for carving. It gives you that bit of spring or oomph in a turn. It feels more sure footed in a hard carve.

I still think they are way overpriced compared to the rest of the market for what you get. But you get that when they make some of the best longboard skate clips on the market. Made me buy two

The Vanguard, even after exchange rate and shipping, came out at a pretty good price.
After initially thinking it was too flexy, by the end of the skate I was bouncing / pumping it because it was so fun.
Giving it a pump at the bottom of a turn / carve, nearly got beyond myself.
I've got a Tareb waiting that goes in the ridiculously expensive bin.
But you only live once...
