Downwinding seems like hard work ... a lot of paddling to catch those wind swells. So if it's windy enough to downwind, I am more likely to kite foil it. But the surf wing seems like it offers potential ... just enough of a wind boost to get you on foil, ride the swells, then a little wind boost again when come off plane. I wonder if that might end up as the missing ingredient to make this more easily doable? I would sure like to try.
Btw, I saw a photo somewhere with a paddle attached to the wing center strut...so if wind dies, you can just deflate and paddle back. Smart!
