Hey. Does the back edge of a foil mast have to be really that sharp?
Just picking up the foil is a bit of a concern when you think, what if it slips through your hand. Understanding that whilst riding, the blunt front is the aproaching edge. But can be a serious injury if you fall the wrong way or for some reason the foil springs back at you. Less damaging if it was blunt.

For SUP/surf foil surfing, it should be sanded a bit if you feel it is too sharp. Better a bit more humming or drag than risking cutting yourself or others... or your leash.
We are foiling at lower speed than kitefoilers and do not need the same efficiency.

You will not often hit the back edge of the mast, but it can happen, while kicking in the water, or if the board is pushed back by a breaking wave....

Try to round up only one side of the trailing edge to minimize humming.

Agreed, there should be no sharp edges that could cut you anywhere on a surf foil. If it's a concern, round the edge with sandpaper.
