Looking for a impact vest with hydration pouch to use for DW foiling. One possibility I see is the Forward WIP Impact vest. Any comments from users on this on how well they work in a SUP DW application? Other brands?

For DW foiling, most guys switch from an impact vest to a paddle vest. Something a Kayaker would use. They are shorter on your torso and have a wider opening for your arms with very little over your shoulders. They have pockets on the front and pockets for a water bladder in the back. Vaikobi is a popular brand, but there are lots. Searching for "kayak paddle vest" will show you the most options. Fisherman's vests can be similar and cheaper.

Hdip. ok that makes sense. Thanks

I will hit my paddle shop. Hopefully find something that also has some impact protection. I can see falling a lot as a beginner. LOL

For paddling, I like Mocke PFD's and have the Flow model.

Has good size pockets.

Vaikobi V3 ocean PFD with a front zip are popular.
They have front pockets and space for water in the back. Bright colours to be seen. You can also unzip if you get too hot. I use a Forward WIP Neo 50N impact vest for winging and sup. These are comfy and warm. This vest only has a front pocket for phone, tools and keys. If I want water I have to take a cambelbak 1.5L waist belt. Best to try and stay as light as possible when learning foiling. Every kilo lighter helps!

The Moke Flow has big front/back pockets. I put the 1.5 L bladder in the rear pocket, food up front, run the drinking tube over the shoulder strap. There's a loop for the tube.
