Here's photos of the short bottom mount pedestal with large flip top tail. You'll see the painted blue pedestal is the current one but with top mount small flip tip for size comparison. The bottom mount as a prototype has 3 bolt holes for mounting forward or back the front can be used with longer screw to hold pedestal and wing together or you can use the two back ones and one to hold separately then photo all together with new tall plate mast (coming soon) Gl140 all set up.

Yeah sure, winglets gives more of a bite through turns I feel. The short pedestal I have not used yet. I believe bottom mount allows better pump as the fuselage doesn't break contract with full surface of the wing.

2.1kg but I'll have to use proper scales somewhere

Hi Pohaku. How do you rate the GL140. Thinking of getting one to compliment my GL210 to use for prone and SUP foiling. Seems to be a lot of positive info about. DK seems to really rate them on the progression project podcast. Do they give enough lift on small/medium waves for SUP foiling for the average guy? Thanks!

Hey mate. It's epic I love it for 2.5 foot plus. I use the 180 or 210 in the smaller waves. It's the most sold GF wing in aus at the moment.
I'm 84ish kg, sup foil 5'4 Sunova. You won't regret it.

Hi Sweats, My GL140 is pretty well my go-to wing now with Kai tail for sup & prone foiling....Great lift & speed & pump back out...easy to do 2for1's on waves...

Hi guys. I'm after some advice for the best way to setup the flat tail stab for pumping. In the pics below you can see that I've put 2 washers to act as a shim under the rear bolt to raise the back of the tail stab. Is this correct for giving more lift? Is this the best setup for flat water pumping ?(I'm using the maliko 280 front wing but about to upgrade to the GL 240). I don't use any shims for wing foiling as its supposed to be best for speed like that, but assumed that for flat water pumping (to practice for pumping to connect waves) it would be best to have more lift.
Also, I've just been told that the pedestal should be turned over so the tail stab is underneath rather than on top like i have it in the pictures. Is this right? If so do I need to shim the front bolt to keep the same angle, or have i got that wrong as well? Any help on this would be appreciated

That looks extremely uptrimmed. i can't see that being nice to ride. I have a GL210, I don't use the pedestal,but I bolt stabs onto the spigot/fuse via holes I drilled. The stabs sit flush with the spigot (down facing when the board is in the water)). It's a small angle and it works fine even with very thin HA stabs. If I need to tune it I move the mast forward or backward as required.

I think it does go the other way...probably best to ride it unshimmed and see how it feels.

Hey mate,

that's going to give a s**t tone of lift and on a 280.. I wouldn't only use one on the rear not two. As for bottom mount it's a completely different pedestal all together. They will be out in a couple of months.

just bolt the flat stabs straight to the spigot. Clean enough for back there
and shortens things up for nothing.
i may try this on the new Gong 100cm carbon mast with my GF 18w tail as well. May not even have to drill additional holes.

I made the spacing to take Axis stabs, and my own homemade ones. At the moment I have a Signature stab modified to fit an Axis fuse. Short fuses are the red hot shizzle.

Nicely done!
And no waiting around for vaporware parts that may or may not ever show up.

I find the 18w without any washers creates a huge amount of lift so put one single washer at the front to flatten it off. Without the washer it's great when the wind is super light (downwind).

Pohaku--did you have a go on the prototype 120 when you were on Maui? Curious if folks are finding it a quiver addition to the 140 or alternative?

James Casey was out on the 120 today at my local just busting it to pieces . Pretty dam amazing . Doesn't pump like the 140 but surfing is next level.
