I do not regret (too much) that SUP was invented as I was not young anymore, but man, being young and discovering foiling...

Foil beachstart... what's next?

Slightly longer clip:

This will be the new normal in about a year as technique gets better and wings get dialed in.

This conjures up an image of guys walking out the end of the local pier and hopping on for a bit of foil pumping. Imagine that at St Kilda or Black Rock.

The only concern is how you get from being a beginner foiler to being able to jump and pump. Jump. Splash. Owww!. Repeat.

What foil is that in the first clip from Colas's? White with the racing black stripe on it. Link says it's from GoFoil source but ?

For me, and this is just a personal preference, Im glad that foils weren't around during my younger/"Momentum" years or I maybe would not have progressed my surfboard skills/experiences and missed out on a more holistic experience. Saying that, to have the foil as an additional option and revel in all those crappy waves I've done over the years.....maybe I do wish I had it then.

Anyway, it's here now and the future's so bright I have to wear shades......

Thanks Piros. Have not heard much about the Cloud foil in Oz. I know Real Watersports has them. They look "Takuma...ish"......

From the clip of that guy water starting it looked like it was very stable but also responsive.....plus rider was very good....

I want to see the wipeout reel ... how many tries and fails before success? Like those guys doing the basketball trick shots 500 times in a row until they get the lucky one. That's what I choose to believe, for why I'll never be able to do this.

Amazing skill.....such a small window of time to have feet in the right position and get that nose up, if it touches down even for a moment you're done.

Cloud 9 are a California brand. Small company up in Ventura. Seems like a lot of central cal guys like them. We see them here around Malibu a good bit. Just like GoFoil on Maui, it's who's local to you.

In person they are pretty different than Takumas. Way more streamlined. A lot of good riders on them if you check Instagram.
