G'day - getting water into a new Fould Drive Gen2 battery cone - can't figure out why. Greased, latches tight etc etc.

Any ideas, please?

Ta'.

Yeah, thanks - I'm in the far reaches of Indo - so need to try and sort a fix rather than chase a warranty and already done the usual internet snooping. Thought there may some help here with the collective knowledge.

I had an issue with a seal not working well due to too much grease on it. Changed out the seal and added less grease and it allowed the nose cone to seat better.

Is it inside the battery compartment or sloshing around inside the grey plastic nose cone? I'm guessing you have the V2 latches fitted.

Just make sure the nose cone is sitting dead flat on the bottom of the board , if there is any rocker you need to pack that gap , Same if the board or boxes has some flex . Any pressure on the nose cone that makes it move up or down it will 100% leak. I've seen this on a few boards especially older ones . Can you send a pic of the board set up. If you can see daylight under your nose cone when it's bolted on the board that's your issue. Other than that everyone seems to have covered it above.

I've have had 2 of the grey nose cones take on water, they where replaced under warrant. One that was replaced then did the same.
On the underside of the nose cone the seal where the inserts are glued in after manufacture the glue they used was not sufficiently added.
I ended up getting plumbing pvc glue and painting it over the inserts after draining the water, never had a issue since. cotton wool bud to spread the glue.

That's potentially the issue - thank you!

Good luck getting any support from foildrive. I have issues with my foildrive but receive no response/reply from foildrive after a week of seeking support. Very disappointing.

They get flooded by emails, over 4000 users out there. Just call them in Adelaide during working hours, much quicker and easier.

I am always surprised when people would rather jump on a forum and take a shot at a brand or business rather than picking up the phone. I have never delt with a company with better customer service than FD.

Good thinking and thanks for your advice. I hadn't thought of ringing them twice a day over the past week.
