Short answer is. Yes!

But you'll have to watch my first raw run on the new Flitecell Nano to hear my thoughts

Fair warning - it's long haha!

Some stats that I didn't cover in the video

Nano 6.2kg / 13.7lbs weight16.8 Ah, 806 Wh capacity
Vs
Sport10.6kg / 23.4 lbs weight29.4 Ah, 1.6 KWh capacity
Me
173cm / 5'8"
73kg / 160lbs

Any queries or comments hit me up on IG @paularity_

And a quick addendum, the next day I went on my first downwinder.

Covered 10km - using only 30% - caught 52 waves - averaging 97m - totalling 5km unpowered - in the open ocean! ??

Good start in the rough , I struggle with that but I'm on the Ultra & 90 kg can't wait to give the Nano a crack great weight saving.

It comes with 300+ hours on the board haha! The torque on the foldy is pretty intense too, had a few spectacular swan dives

Very hard to go back to a heavier battery - you'll love it!

Awesome.. Thanks for the vid..

Exciting efoil days ahead with battery technology.. They just need to make them more affordable..

I'm looking forward to the day when they bring out a cheap construction board with battery.. mast and motor and an adapter plate on the end of the mast that is compatible with different foil brands so we can use our own foils..

Cheers!

I don't think Flite or Lift will ever cannibalise their market by doing that although I know of people MagGuyver-ing solutions to use other brands of wings

The new Series 3 gear brought down the entry price somewhat with fibreglass boards, but yeah it is still up there for sure

Agree with Hilly DJ , you'll get alot more use out of a foil drive considering all the gear you already have.

2nd that, the foil drive makes everything that was hard fun without the crazy weight, get to use the foils and boards you want as well.

Just checked out Flite's site and it's good to see they are really promoting the power off gliding and light weight. I hope that leads to more future advances. I had demoed a Lift and while it was fun I didn't feel it was anywhere close to being like riding a regular foilboard. 50 lbs is much better but from a performance pov. with a foildrive you can be at 1/2 that and also not have motor in water while foiling. Whenever foildrive comes up with a better antenna or bluetooth, so you can use lower volume boards, the difference is going be even more. For now foildrive is a way better choice for riding waves or DW IMO.

Sorry to hijack, but since there is a lot of talk of foil drive in here right now. Local guy is putting his foildrive on his tiny tow board, running an extra long cable and putting the battery in a pack attached to his impact vest. The battery weight is not on his lower back and not on the board. He is prone starting it in deep water.

I think that is the future.
