This really just goes to show the biggest improvement people can make is work on Technique and i have always said to people wanting to learn to DW that timing and technique are the 2 biggest factors. All one has to do is match the board speed with the speed of the foil they want to get up on and then get the timing right with the way your paddle and body move so they don't work against each other.
Great to see the no-paddle get-up done and all I picked up from it more than anything else is how important good timing is. More people working on technique and timing and more people getting into DW cant really hurt so I'm all for it.
Agree that developing the skill of timing and coordination will aid in improving technique.
You mentioned creating board speed to match the required speed for lift of foil. Would you agree that the longer, narrower board design enables you to create forward board speed at a quicker rate and more efficiently over a set distance than a 6'0 board? Do you think it's possible to do this style of get up on a 6'0 x 22 ish style board or would this design not allow for enough forward board speed without a paddle?
