Hi all,
I strongly adviced a Takuma LOL 1600 to a friend who starts foiling.
Problem : his board (a Jimmy Lewis Striker "foil ready") only has a deepTuttle box.
Pryde, Gong and F-one carry such adaptators in there range, but Takuma does not.
Some alu mast geometries are very close.
Wich one would be the best fit?

I think the Gong and the Naish are both compatible with the Takuma aluminum fuse. I have not personally tried this

Yes that is correct but only on the earlier Alu models , new Ali Takuma mast are slightly wider , they changed when the Kujiras came out . I also think the Slingshot Tuttle adaptor would go dam close. You can also buy an Alu Tuttle insert and just weld it on , I did that to an Axis in the early days. The Neil Pryde Tuttle head would suit that .

Thanks for all the feedbacks.
It's the new Takuma mast, so I guess the Chinook powerplate is the safest choice...
By the way, it seems that the Takuma brand has been bought by a big sport retailer (Decathlon).
They've open new price points with some fiberglass foils declined from the Lol series : 549 euros for the 1600!

I have seen them but i did not know they were fiberglass versions. You know this for sure?.

At that price they are a superb deal anyway, after riding the LOL 1600 for some months i tried other brands (Armstrong,North...) and they felt kinda boring.

Takumas are not the fastest or glidiest, but they are so playful and throwabout that you will not care at all.

No, not sure about this. It was my assumption as they've previously had fiberglass versions on the market (with plainpaint instead of visible fiber). It seemed like the right way to decline the LOL for larger retail while keeping the surfshops happy.
The shop I had purchased my LOL from has dropped the brand since but that's an exception.
I'm also curious about their board construction for reaching 599 euros as they've allready two other constructions for the TK series on the market at 1299 euros and 849 euros.
Went to my local Decathlon the other day, curious about the weight, but they didn't have those in stock.

Anyway it looks like growth is expected for the wingfoil market.

I asked Takuma about those painted LOL's some months ago. They told me they were exactly the same as the Carbon&White ones, just meant for their Efoil system.

I think the only fiberglass foil is the upcoming Kujira Air 1500.

Some infos from D?cath in France :
With the succes of the Kujira, the LOL sell-out was not granted through surfshops > The first deliveries from Takuma to D?cathlon included painted LOL Carbon wings that were initially destinated to surfshops. Good surprise for early buyers!
The final version of the Takuma Profoil sold by Decathlon comes with fiberglass wings.

Regarding boards, there are 3 constructions :
The red ones : carbon
The cream ones : wood epoxy
The white ones : fiber epoxy.

The situation might be different in other countries.
