Do surf foilers adjust their foil position depending on wave size?

My experience windfoiling is that each foil has a track position that is ideal, depending on where I put my mast and foot straps. When wind picks up I change the sail but I do not move the foil position.

Is this the case for surf foiling? or are people moving their foil fore/aft in bigger surf?

Smaller I usually put my foil far forward, bigger waves more at the back.

I sometimes move my mast an 1/8th of an inch towards the tail when it's overhead on the face. I usually regret doing that though. I am strapless on a 4'4" so usually I can just adjust my feet to fix that issue and it's easier than dealing with a new mast position.

I do move mast position based on the front wing I'm riding though. Each front wing has it's own sweet spot.

Mast position stays the same I'm more likely to change the tails to smaller for larger waves or higher speeds.

Keep the same. Adjust front foil/tail wing.

If too lazy might drop it back, but normally just change front wing and leave as is.

If the balance is right leave it be. I only confuse myself (Which is not hard) if I move the mast around.

I also move my mast back a fraction when waves get a little bigger. When waves are small I try and optimize the weight distribution (SUP) so that it is optimal for pumping, when it's bigger I find moving the mast back gives me slightly more time to sort out my feet before the foil lifts during take-off. I only move it about 2cm.

On my wing board I rarely move it once I've found the optimal trim but board is smaller so there is less swing-weight.

Haha - don't want to hijack thread, but in short - a lot of wing down-winging which is just easier than with a paddle. Have managed 10km without touching handles, as my best run to date, and the extended time on bumps, has motivated me to order a dwd specific SUP board. I still can't keep a Foil-SUP going the entire run. TOW (Time on Water), body-weight and gear is everything. Running out of years, so it's now or never.
