Board 8'12" X 16 V2 Barracuda
First picture is where a gofoil light v2 mast, 990x foil sits in the box when balanced the Kane method. Notice the use of the extra baseplate holes to allow the mast far enough back.
Below is where my FONE 14mm HM mast with eagle X 1000 surprisingly sits in the box when the board is balanced.
The below picture is where in the box i actually ride the eagle X 1000 with the 900X another 1/4' further forward again. I like the slight tail heavy position. Still a lot of adjust left in the box for the tiny fone momentum foils
Where foilers position their foil from the balance point is personal preference and the above is just to show how tail oriented the barracudas are.
I selected the above foils because they are representative of what us punters might choose and in terms of the gofiil 990X it is the latest production DW foil from gofoil. The above pictures certainly don't support the crazy claim that the boxes are positioned for gofoil. Also to correct further misinformation the 990X on the V2 mast has similar front foot feel to my eagle X 1000 despite the difference in distance from foil to the mast with gofoil being about 60 mm further forward. Not so black and white

If you try the above experiment with Armstrong, Code and Sunova boards you will find they are terribly heavy in the front end by comparison which creates the necessity for the same foils to be maybe 3" further forward in comparison. I did this exact experiment with an 8'2" DWP armstrong board and i could not believe how much further up the board i had to push the eagle X 900 just to get it balanced. This is representative of the difference between most brands and the barracuda in terms of where the centre of mass is and where the center of buoyancy is. Its ok that on other boards the design requires the mast much further up the board by comparison just don't use it as a base to setup a barracuda.
I went to all this trouble because after a few years of misinformation it gets a bit much and this stuff is bloody expensive so above you have my experience and hopefully it helps someone.

The new Kalama DW shape looks interesting with the narrow tail should work well. Would be great if he put his mind to a parawing board about 85l.
