Hi All,
Been lurking on this forum for a while and found lots of useful info so thanks everyone. I have been foiling for a bit over a year and can not get enough. Boat is out of the water for the season and I don't get into real waves except for Hawaii and Tofino few times a year. There is waves closer but I can't go often because of work-kids etc. I'm going to buy a wind ding at some point but for now I can't. So I have been working on my pump from a saw horse and trying my banking turns and working on cardio. I want to be able to do figure 8's pumping. Anytime on foil is a good time in my book.My set up is an Axis 920 with short fuse 400 rear and 75 mast. Board is a Naish hover. I usually have the foil 2/3 way back in the tracks. I'm 135 lb
I am finding I have to continually pump pretty hard and don't get much glide. With a banking turn I feel like I get more glide but I lose speed quick. I think I am going to get the new HA wing Axis has coming out and hope that will pump and glide with a bit less effort. Work good with a wing ding too?I know I am not supposed to push down on my front foot when at full mast height but I feel if I don't then I lose speed to quick. I also think I kind of ride the foil on the upstroke instead of just lifting my legs? My movements seem too exaggerated compared to most people. My goals are to rock start into downwinder/ 2 for 1's on my prone/ wake thieving/ cut down on ferry costs lol
If anyone has any tips or tricks that would be greatly appreciated
thanks!
