OK being doing this foil thing for a couple of months now and find myself in a dilemma Started on the 102 following Piros and others advice as at 105kg needed lift. Great foil to learn on, in weak small waves. Which I do not have. So got smashed until I worked out I needed piddling waves. Then progressed well. Started kiting with the 102 ha ha what a joke that was.
Got a 82 to kite, still too big. Swapped for a 75 much better, made kiting enjoyable. So then suped a borrowed 92 which felt better than the 102 but still big. Due to damaged 102 wing suped the 75 wing in ok waves. Game changer! Felt loose and in control- did turns that felt like turns rather than banks. The 75 is a keeper for good waves ie solid and steep. Downside was less glide. So what do I pair it with? 82 or 92? For sup in small waves?
Big regret I did not sup the 82.
Any thoughts brain trust? I have zero interest in downwind foil as I do that on a kitefoil. Have offloaded the 102.

That's a difficult choice, but if you couldn't stretch to 3 wings I'd go for the 82. That Iwa, Naish XL ballpark is extremely useful I find, and can kind of stretch up or down in range at a pinch.
I don't ride Axis but a mate does and he was stoked with the 82 for prone surfing.

Hey Hilly

For your weight I would go the 92cm and 75cm, the 92cm still surfs pretty well for its size.

Cheers

Yeah agree with Murf if the 102 is gone then 92 & 75 is a good combo. The 82 is a better turning wing but you can still crank the 92 and easier to pump , plus on epic DW days you'll still be able to use it. If you are considering proning I'd get the 82 .

That is what I was hoping to hear.
If the 82 was way better and similar glide I would get that.

That is my dilemma as I can see the 82 would be awesome, but I do not want 3 wings so close together.

Finally decided I got the 92 and the new 400mm rear wing so:
Tiny surf - 92 with 500mm rear
Small surf - 92 with 400mm rear
Good surf and kiting - 75 with 400mm rear

Yeah smaller rear wings make a huge difference on all foils
