Has anyone had a chance to try the new Axis 910 HA wing? Am looking at it for prone in the surf and also considering the 1150 for entry into wind-winging.

Ive tried it once on a little downwinder. As you would expect its fast and turns very easily but i found it lacked basically all of the low end lift you need when downwinding in sub 20kts, and with the 370 (?) Tail there was a noticeable lack of drive in the pumps. usually i can overtake the wave in front by pumping at speed but i found the 910/370 just didnt have the grunt to climb up the back of a wave.
910 would be great in mid size surf, just watch the tips they have minimal washout and very high surface loading = love sucking in air given half the chance.

1150 is the perfect large winging wing, very low take off speed (i can flat water start it on the sup) but still has a respectable top end and doesnt mind slipping a tip out every now and then

Yeah- we rarely get the wind in my locale to consider the 910 for downwind- think the 1150 would be my go to for that and most days winging. I'd be looking to use 910 to surf prone probably short fuse and 390 stab. I surf a 900 most days now but...... the glide and pump ability of the 910 is appealing and sounds as if it turns as well although I assume a different feel. The 1050 seems pretty wide for prone surf.

Honestly- I'm probably throwing hard earned cash at my mediocre pump game, hoping for a miracle cure.

I have the 910 and I'm used to the 900/370/

I think the 910 has more lift and is better at low speed than the 900 but it is not as fast on the top speed.
Depends on your size, but if you struggle with the 900 i thnink the 910 will be easier for sure.

Acutally the 1010 is interesting in small surf for bigger guy, it turns good for such a big wing.

Try the 340 rear, way better than the 370 on the 910 and 1010. The anheadral tail kills the forward pump distance. I felt with the 370, it was too draggy and didn't let me kick into high gear.

Hmmmmmmm... If the 1010 worked in surfl I'd be stoked as I assume I could use for pretty light wind wing foiling too?

Typical mushy days w/ the 900 are fun- I can generate speed w/ turns, but only pump out the back if I drop in and immediately cut out with really good speed, but I am even inconsistent w/ that. If I continue to surf the inside at all- I lose speed and drop sometime before 50 ft. on the way out. Maybe I need to jam the mast all the way forward and figure out the sketchy drops in order to pump better. Was kind of holding out hoping a 960 dihedral wing would show up to be my prone surf daily driver but not sure we'll see those anytime soon.

I have the 1010 with ultra short fuse and 370 tail, 76kg. Low stall speed. Turns surprisingly well. Good pump and glide, maybe it'll pump better with a different tail. I'm interested in trying the 420 tail, more efficient and more grip on the turns. I'm skidding out the 370 when I'm using the kite while turning hard in swell.

It would be good to see Foiling NY compare the 1010, with the 910 and 1150.

Have you tried the 390 tail? I have found w/ prone surfing at least- it is the best compromise in decent glide and controlled carve through turns. I like it w/ a -1 shim as it feels a bit faster.

I've had a session in small 1-2 foot waves into river swells on the 1010. I'm very happy with it. Much more support for a 95kg plus rider over the 900, and not that bad to surf. a bit slower transitioning from edge to edge, but rides well. Quite stable. besides on proper punchy waves / swell I think I could probably ride it full time.

For Foiling NY's purposes at 90Kg, an Axis 1350 would be the ticket if it existed. He needs to eek out every last bit of glide for pumping on flat water and gliding on boat wake.

For my purposes the 1010 has been a nearly perfect compromise (also 90Kg). Sometimes it was a handful (3M waves and 40+ knots) and probably the 910 would have been better. Sometimes the 1150 might have helpful in parts of that same downwinder. Pretty hard to find consistently perfect conditions over a lot of miles.

Regardless, love this guys stuff. The video overlays don't lie.

Prone I use 910 replaced my 900 and turns better and doesn't drop out of the sky at low speeds and the glide is amazing, as you lose speed you just do a couple of pumps and then it glides back into the section. 1010 i use for sup and almost same with its glide compared to my old 1000 and again doesn't drop out at low speed. 1150 I only tried once in half foot of river swell and it took off and had great lift, but really hard to turn but so was the old 1020 it replaced. Hope this helps a bit??

I have a 900 and have heaps of fun on it, but at 90+ kg, I have been considering the 910 for the reasons you mentioned-lack of low end on the 900 and more on the 910. Encouraging to hear the 910 actually turns better. That is kind of counterintuitive being that it is flatter and a little bit wider.

A note on the 1150. I tried it w/ the 460 stab on my 4-6 prone in micro-surf for a laugh. I could stand up and glide away on barely breaking waves on that beast... would carry for days on next to nothing with barely a pump. Once I got any kind of speed- it just railroaded forward in a straight line. Only way I could get it to turn was to scrub speed and kind of yaw/slide the tail. I bought it to learn to wing and can see how it will be perfect for low wind days.

Hi Holoholo I'm 95kg , only used 910 prone surf. The other great thing about 910 over 900 is that it doesn't push you out to far in front of wave which I didn't like with 900, being mid aspect allows it to sit back in the wave a little more keeping more power.

Scotty what tail wing are you using ?

Tried new 390 but maxes out around 26km/ hour i found on sup foil at high speed i found way to much lift, not to bad o prone as I go slower as I'm still learning big time. Using 400mm rear and its fine for Sup, prone and kiting.
