Jesus waves hey ? Don't really no what to say but ,only in America, They get pretty excited wake foiling ,recon they would explode if they ever got to riding waves in the ocean.
Interesting they like the long fuse, must be for the pump and glide, Seems like it works great for what they want though.

Interesting back edge curve which I have not seen before on Armstrongs. Cloud foils have a much bigger one. Wonder if it is a thing??

I didn't like the look with the washer so replaced it with 2 - 1mm plastic shims.
Gap at the back is about 3mm.

Tried this wing dinging the 1850 and it was a really positive change. Way less breaching when suddenly accelerating down a swell. May have saved me the price of an 850 mast Felt a little faster - it is not a fast wing though. Will be interesting surfing it with the +2. You definitely stand further back.

Have you tried DW ? with it yet Hilly, I just got mine and have only prone surfed it once, I got it instead of getting a bigger wind wing as it was cheaper than a 5m and I could also use for prone in small surf.Very surprised at how fast it goes without breaching and how well it turns at slower speeds for a big wing.I do have to keep it lower in the water for turning tight so it doesn't pop a tip.
Takeoffs were also easy with progressive lift which surprised me for its size.
Fantastic pumper ,could regain and save it when it getting low on the water, and just too easy once in the sweet spot.

Got high hopes for it DW.

If you count riding dw on a swell with an inflatable toy in your hand then yes.
So easy to link bumps and even makes me look like I can pump. No overly fast which means you do not run out into the flats easily and stall. Overall really impressed.

Thanks Hilly, yes the inflatable toy is what I'll be using to DW with ,so that's what I wanted to know.
I was surprised riding today prone how fast it went without breaching, So I'm thinking it will great for DW especially in light conditions.

Been using the +2 with positive results.

My guess is UltraLight carbon fuse (no titanium)...

Maybe, but they are already lighter than any other fuse so you would wonder why they would bother, maybe just to sell a bit more gear ?

Does anyone change shims from winging to surfing? I think I like the turning of the 0 shim when surfing but the +2 feels good winging.

Emma not sure if anyone answered your question. I did my first session with the 1850 today. Beautiful kit.. I was on the 60 fuse. Previous I was riding the SS i99 wing with a 78 cm fuse. I switched in anticipation of getting the 1850/60 to a 60 cm fuse on the SS. Huge difference for pumping between the 78 and 60. It really just dialed in the cadence and translation of leg effort into glide. Today 1850/60 combo was very easy to pump. I was out 3 hrs winging.

Hey all, I've been enjoying this thread. Any updates on HS1850 vs CF2400? I'd like to know which of these is more likely to get me up on foil in the lightest wind possible. I'm aiming for well under 10 knots w/ my 7m Echo. I'd also like to learn to pump onto foil from a dead start w/ a paddle. I'm assuming the one that will get me going in the lightest wind will be the winner here as well, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a pretty experienced kite foiler. New to wing foil, but progressing swiftly so far, I think. Thanks for any input you guys may have for me. Cheers.

EDIT: Please let me know if you are comparing the 1850 w/ the 2400 v1 or v2, thanks.

Clearly the 2400. I have both. ( I have the v2)

I also have both the 1850 and 2400 v1, and have been testing for about one month now. As a newcomer to winging, I noticed a big difference right away. The 2400 gets up much faster, and has been perfect for my current stage. My locale is also a wind challenge place.

First time prone foiling the 1850 in head high surf. Noticed when up on foil, it's much faster than my previous Cloud Nine P27. However when paddling into waves, the foil felt draggy, making the take off extra challenging. I think I need to try a different shim. The zero didn't quit feel right. With my previous foil, 1400 cm squared was plenty of surface and fairly steady. Today, foot placement was really important to avoid getting launched.

+1 shim 232 tail and mast at the back of the tracks,and it's surprising what it can do , I clocked 32kms on it the other day which really surprised me for a big foil.

To error on the conservative side, I put the mast midway in the tracks and thought it would work. However it was hard getting correct feet placement on that 5'6" 40 liter board. The extra lift was too sudden. Thanks for pointing this out as I over looked this point - I mainly purchased the 1850 for winging, but summer winds have been lite. I've mainly been using a 2400 I picked up used, so the 1850 hasn't seen much action.

What are guys finding the upper limit in wave size for surfing and wind strength for winging? Anyone messing with a chopped 232 and 1850?
