I haven't had a chance to ride the 280, but with the 2400, wingdinging, I've hit 21.7 mph (right before a breach).

I think the general consensus is that it is quicker than the 280. By how much, I'm not sure. My general high speeds winging is closer to 17 mph, in winds around that 15-20 mph. It feels quicker with the HS tail wing. I have read that it performs better on short period wind swell downwinding than on longer period, as it's not fast enough for ground swell.

Would agree with that. I am very pleasantly surprised with the speed and turnability of the 2400 every time I use mine.

Hey Hilly I saw you used the Axis 1020 too. How is the 2400 compared to this beast ?

Way better. Faster and actually turns new 232 tail helps a lot too.

I've dock started the 2400 with my 4'10" prone, 65kgs. I was able to go over 100M before my legs stopped cooperating. I was thinking I would be able to go forever at first, but then my lack of leg muscles and poor cardio had me run into a wall. I think with a smaller board and the newer HS Tail, it will be a beast for dockstarts.

Looks like the CF 2400 is realitivly thicker. 33mm for the CF 2400 compared to more than 4mm for the Maliko this must make a real difference for the top speed
