I'm in Maui and it is blowing 20 + often... there was 30+ People out today at "the harbor" half of them were beginners, including me. Winging is really "taking off" here...This place is perfect for learning, flat water and a jetty provide for lighter wind close to shore , but cranking in the channel... I have only an Axis 900, but I was thinking the 820 for learning for maybe more slow, steady stable ride - I have a 4m Duotone... Or maybe a 3m wing with a 920?? What size foil would be best for learning? The armstrong rep wants to get me on a 1600...
Here, lighter riders favor the 920 and 900 wing combo for winging. Heavier guys favor the 1020 and 1000 combo.
This setup covers all wind. The slower, easier, 920 and 1020 are perfect for learning, then later as your light wind setup.
