Apparently a dredge has been booked for July/August, this year?

When the dredge is there be aware that they will have pipes going in all directions which means it can be very confusing at night with all the flashing warning lights.

Whats needed is a couple of way points, are there any locals who can provide some, Sea Rescue??

i think this map here looks alright. i might just avoid the place and go straight to dble island point unless conditions are good to cross at high tide in daylight.

Is there enough room to get around the edge of the bar to the west and pick up the leads again?

I spoke to my brother today who lives on the canals at Mooloolaba and regularly takes his 40 foot Granger catamaran out. He said it has shoaled since Debbie came through. The trawlers and pilot boats are still getting in and out. Coming in you need to stay north of the river mouth and dig into the bay and then approach from the west and come round the western wall then it is just a matter if running up the river as normal.
At this stage I think I will go straight from home at Scarborough and go directly to the Wide Bay bar, giving Mooloolaba a miss. Last time I came back from inside the bar to home in eleven and a half hours so I am a allowing thirteen hours. I will leave home at three am to be at waypoint one at three thirty pm, as high tide is five thirty.
This all sounds good in theory but it will all come down to what the weather is doing.

Jode you are right, the bar changed after Debbie. I am still going in and out every weekend. Coming out I wait for the right time and exit the channel through the west and then immediately face the coming waves, never hit a breaking wave neither in nor out. It can look scary and the worst I've seen is some boat violently rolling because they didn't turn against the waves on time. Coming into port I approach from the north east to the west side of the entrance avoiding the shallow zone.
