For the rest of us that need the basics I took a couple of photos yesterday after a diving session scraping of some shell. First one is my $10 speakers. Second one is the Fm aerial. The wire is just plastic coated and size is not critical. Diameter you can work out from online sources and it can be any shape that fits. The coax cable from the radio just has the end stripped back, the outer shield twisted together and soldered to one end of the wire in the circle. The centre wire soldered to the other end of the circle and then its just wrapped over.

For me high fidelity is much more important than volume. Nothing better than listening to well recorded music at a very moderate volume on reference grade speakers.

I am sure my morning Radio National sessions have disturbed no one?

I totally agree with the comments regarding loud music at anchorages. Its def horrible and sydney on land and water IS full of pyschopath selfish A holes who care only about themselves. Personally I'm not into loud music but like to have my stereo installed so that it sounds nice at low volume. Ace of base, sheryl crow, james blunt and the spin doctors...yeah....just kidding. The cerwin vega motto though is true for me in the sense that music is very important to me but i do love quiet which is why i moved 150km south of sydney and now have space.
Last saturday i took a mate out on the harbour. Hot day. Anchored milk beach. Surrounded by party boats with loud music. This is the reality of weekend anchoring in the harbour unfortunately and the reason i go mostly during the week. Looking forward to quiet secluded spots in pittwater/hawksbury next week for 10 days or so. I miss having a mooring up there...

Ahhh Shane i hear ya buddy. I was a gypsy beyween 94-2008 living out of a pack all that time. I had to let all my albums go. Last 3 years been collecting vinyl again and in the last few weeks ive started getting original cassettes. Yes the boats got a cassette deck (walkman into aux) even cassettes beat mp3s in quality. I also have a really good DAT walkman but never use it except for studio work.
