Without making a meal of it suggest you match the design load of the backstay adjuster with the design load of your 8mm backstay wire - whether what you have now or what you will have going forward after renewing the standing rigging. Hammapro 8mm wire is about 30% stronger than normal 1x19 stainless wire.
