I am looking for information regarding Marinas,Anchorages and Mooring as I travel down the south coast?
Where and when to overnight would be good to know.
Having trouble finding the right map on GoogleG

How many miles a day or day sailing.
Check out Shell Harbour, will not be on many maps.
Ulladulla of course
Bittangie Creek
Gabo, then not much to the Lakes.

Shellharbour Marina has plenty of berths when I stopped there last year. Shops are very close, but it's a bit soulless. Fine for an overnight stay, a shower and to do the laundry.

There're public moorings in many places down the NSW south coast, which can be good depending which way the wind is blowing and the direction of the swell. There's one in Crookhaven Bight off Currarong beach that is ok in a southerly, but wouldn't be any good in a northerly. There's others inside Jervis Bay.

There's a public mooring in Ulladulla harbour, if occupied you can get a place on the wharf, or raft up with a fishing boat if they agree, but someone likely has to stay on the boat. The marina at Batemans is fine but you will need to cross the bar to get into it. So may have to wait for the tide depending when you arrive. There's a public mooring inside Snapper Island which you can tie up to if it's available.

You can tie up at the marina in Bermagui. The entrance can look a bit narrow and exciting depending on the swell.

There are public moorings inside a wave attenuating wall in Eden north of the wharf but they're often taken, there're a couple more off Cocora beach. Those are on the north side of Twofold so less good in a southerly. In which case you may want to anchor on the south side near the navy loading dock. If they're flying a flag indicating they're loading explosives you have to keep a half a kilometre clear.

It's lobster season through to April, so need to keep an eye out for floats and lines, unless you're outside the 200m depth contour. Getting out a bit can give more of the benefit of the Australian Eastern Current if you heading South, but adds a bit of distance/time if you're day hopping.

We have plenty of yachts staying overnight at Greenwell Point. Full facilities.

We had 2 nights in Shellharbour between Christmas and New Year. Lots more people around with housing etc filling up nearby. Great atmosphere and really good facilities.

We came down in March 2021. Watson Bay to Greenwell Point (make sure you follow the lead lights if coming in at night??). Greenwell Point to Jervis Bay and anchored on the northern side. Jervis Bay to Ulladulla and used the public mooring (it was pink and in the centre of the harbour) after a night rafted to a fishing boat. Ulladulla to Batemans Bay, had to wait for high tide going in and out and had a sloppy night anchored behind Tollgate Islands. Batemans Bay to Bermagui and then Bermagui to Lakes Entrance (overnight after Gabo) because we had favourable winds.

The highlight was watching dolphins swim off the bow and leaving green phosphorescent trails on the leg from Gabo to Lakes. Good luck and enjoy the trip.

We left Bundeena but had a power issue under stress.
We returned to Bundeena and I managed to get Alex from Ocean Engineering that afternoon.
He removed water from the diesel filter and the tank. Great job Alex.
We left the next day and arrived at Shellharbour. This marina was excellent. Thank you for that recommendation.
We left Shellharbour at 8am and arrive at Eden this morning at 10am
We motor-sailed a lot of the way. Rolling seas were a bit scary but no serious issues.
We are now waiting for a weather window to continue.
Our next stop will be anchoring at Gabo island and then I must resolve this.
Do we cross the bar and go into Lakes Entrance or proceed to Refugee Bay. A long passage.
Is there a better solution on our way to Adelaide?

We arrived at Port Albert Fiday morning.
206 nautical miles in 33 hours.
Expect to be here until Tuesday when we hope to proceed to Appolo Bay.

What? You didn't fancy the 30 knot easterly sleigh ride all the way to A-bay?
