Yep thats me, I actually have the windvane in a locker as I still need to refine it a bit and work out the adjustments.
Was too busy trying to sail up to the Whitsundays etc and I need access to a workshop to do some small modificatons.
I'll be home by November so should have it sorted by Xmas.
Oh, yes, cost to date $300!

$300 is awesome, NSW - but not if it sits in a locker!

My first one cost less than $50. My present one well under $200 and I went crazy buying the best of everything. The major component in windvane construction is labour. There are a lot of hours even for companies that have jigs set up to aid in construction.

This is a kit that requires welding. Nothing wrong with it just that the kit is $1800 before you add shipping. Best to make one your self using off the shelf bits.
This unit is basically the same as mine. The only real difference is I used 3 SS tubes to support the vane head and the push rod is exposed where as the Bouvan uses one larger diameter tube that hides the pushrod similar to Flemings. All three use the same dimensions and ratios.
