I am looking at purchasing a yacht in the near future and am looking at mooring it at Port Stephens, possibly North Arm Cove.

For those that moor their boats, where do you park your car if heading off for a few days or weeks?

Cheers Al

I just leave it at home because the boat is across the road

The good thing about living in Tassie is you can buy a house close to the water for about $300,000

Regards Don

I'm moored on Lake Macquarie & I leave my car in the street near the park where my dinghy is chained to a tree. It's outside houses but I dunno if they would do anything if someone tried to break in or steal it!!

Been lucky so far - touch wood.

Unfortunately I live 1 & 1/2 hour drive from Port Stephens, near Taree. Camden Haven would be great but a long waiting list for a mooring there.
May have to get a cheap little car to leave parked on the street.

Coincidently my boat was moored in Port Stephens for around 18 months. I used to stop at the park near my mooring, unload the car into my aluminium tinnie that I kept chained to a sign on the beach. I would then move the car out of the car park so it was a few houses down the road. Never had any trouble. When I moved the boat I used my inflatable so I could stow it on board for the trip, that was 2 years ago, never went back for the tinnie, stopped in on one of my bike trips a few months ago and it's still chained up.dont have any where here to store it so I should get it and sell it.

Last te I was away on my boat for a week once I'd loaded provisions
I got one of my boys to give me a lift to where the dingy is chained.

My car cost 2000$ and i have left it in the car park for 4 days and no one will take. The olny big drama is paying for the parking ticket.

Bedford,

There is movement in the Dunbogan moorings. Suggest you become real active with Andrea [of Port Macquarie RMS] to get one.
