What I don't like about my boat is that it has 2x 250hp volvos.. In other words, it's not a sail boat.
Worst of all is when you top top up the tanks is saya guy a few piers down had a stern thruster fitted he told them to top up the right hand tank $2600 later id hate that

Desperately working on that problem HG. The problem is no-one's buying boats...
I'm not mad on the maroon dodger and sailcover. But worse than that is the fugly SS double gas cyclinder holder. It's sea worthy but damn ugly.
I've removed both of these old cylinders and only have one smaller cylinder in there now. Wondering if I could get rid of it and hang a smaller cylinder off the pushpit or something. Just don't want it becoming a lethal missile in heavy seas one day.
And I'd like a gate and ladder while I'm there and a couple of seats hanging out the back of the pushpit corners too. Hmmm... that's a fair bit of SS. :( Perhaps I'll just do the cylinder bit.
My gas bottle is located at the rear of the cockpit under that varnished board. The cockpit has a bridge deck so no chance of gas getting below. For tiller steered yachts it is usually a natural position for them.
The S&S 34 has a natural position for them there too but would have to 4.5 kg bottles, not the 9.5 kg size in the pic. Easy to contain and secure there and not a "come and steal me advertisement" hanging off the taff rail.

Maybe so but I bet it humps with that amount of grunt in it.
That it does cisco. But as the tacho needle goes up, the fuel needle comes down. And it is not as pleasant. It is noisy, if you miss judge a wave it can be jarring (and I am not talking a big one either), and its hard to listen to music or have a conversation over the noise of the engines. All you want to do is get their so you can turn the mongrel off and start enjoying the day. IMO, you can not take a powerboat out for the day without a destination to go to.
That's very true Toph, in a power boat you need a destination. Oh the simple joy of enjoying a sail with the occasional wave salt caking your sunglasses and the fickle wind luffing your sails and nowhere to go. Nothing so good.
wholly ** batman, that's our old family boat in there HG, Naima on the left.
We built the solid dodger, and I have oiled all of that timber, and the bowsprit. Weirdest was the 'backward' facing wheel.
Sorry gentlemen, carry on.
Wondered about the mechanics of that wheel Crusty lots of rigging wire in the above photo Crusty Ill throw this photo for good measure I like the stern rails and the Aries hanging off the back
This one is owned by a gently man in Tassy around Donk's sailing ground
