I assume the mosquito at 16" will out perform the calypso and has good clubs here in SA, but I'm only getting it to get the sons away from their Xboxes.
Any advice on these 2? they're similarly priced although the mosquito is a bit cheaper. I'm just a bit concerned what the timber hulls will be like under the paint.
Everything will be faster than a Calypso. The Mosquito is a seious racer and better suited to young lads. The hulls will be stitch and glue construction and as long as epoxy was used to tape them up should have a long life. Any repairs will be easy. The timber construction puts people off these days but it ensures these boats sell cheaply.
