A good run today with the new mppt solar charger. Last night I banked up the 680amp bank in the bow with the 480 amp aft where the charge is, bit of pain having such a long cable from the charge to the bow but after running the donk it seems all has equalised. Min 12.6 and max 14.4 on agm is perfect rhythm for keeping battery's charged.

I installed mine yesterday. I'v gone down the path of 70/15 victron with a lithium 100amp battery. Battery was on sale for $500 delivered from Low Energy Dev, so it's a real 100amp lithium. It's crazy how light it is. I was able to lift it 1 handed above my head to the deck. The old 80agm was 2 hands and brace material.
The victron has a lithium selectable program which makes it easy. I think I'm going to increase the cut off load minimum V. And then test the override app to switch load on all the time. I'd hate to have no nav lights if the **** hits the fan. I know I should have the nav radio connected directly to the battery but it's a lot of rewiring. When I can just jump and bypass the controller in a worse case scenario.
What I never realised was how much shading affects the output as I've never had the gear to demonstrate it. 1 mast shadow across the panel in the arvo and it dropped from 17w to 0.3w!!!! That's only across 4 cells.
Overall the new system is way over my needs and technical understanding so I'm on a steep learning curve but I'm so impressed with the bells and whistles. You may not remember but I've got a trailer sailer and she's living out the front of the house now. I can use the app and check what's going on from just past the front door.

yup, amongst other things it depends on the kind of solar cells, and also the way they are laid out and connected on the panel. the worst case scenario is that even a small strip of shade on a panel can impede the flow of power from the unshaded cells...

I'm getting a much clearer graph building now, living aboard and the fridge doing one run per night. I still don't understand what the Wh is I'm thinking 515wh is the middle of the charge since start and stop.
white is bulk charge till 14.4 and then absorption in the light blue and then float in the darker blue.
With my old. Charge controller my battery's would be down to 12.2ish over night so 12.66 is a big difference using a mppt charge controller.

I believe the 515wh is just half of the 1.03wh maximum in your history (not shown - swipe right). Simply there for reading the graph.
My graph is similar but tiny in comparison.

That's my history since 19th August I think it has something to do with how much the sun puts into my batterys but not sure as the manuals are fairly non explanatory! 29th and 30th I had my main house battery's isolated so it possibly means my total battery and how much it gets charged.

Yes definitely total yield into batteries. 23rd, 24th were the peak days. Solid is Bulk (bottom), lightest (top) is float and middle blue is abs, if you press on the day it should add a description or open it specifically.

There is a better online manual and a forum community through the community.victronenergy.com

My main gripe is once I've left the Bluetooth radius the system reverts to search for BT signal losing the data that I had displayed. I think it's also a bit of a pain that the trend graph history is lost if you close the screen at all.

Yes I'm on the forum , and the online manuals seem all a bit tech for me (or German) my trend history graph seems ok I think you can save it to a file after 30 days it may re-fresh. The 23rd and 24th I didn't have the dongle so I couldn't tell but I seem to remember they where peak sunny days. Now I have the blue tooth and app I can see realtime what's going on, although they are still stream lining it and I have been told that I have errors that will me corrected when the new update comes out next week.

I wish it had this type or style of graph.

I'm not sure that looks a bit to complicated, I know victron do a battery monitor but I already fitted a BM-1 so I don't need another, although to monitor my useage via the app would be useful if it's all on the same page. I kinda want to have the whole boat on hassle free with occasional browse at my charge systems. Victron also do battery chargers with the VE blue tooth but considering I haven't put the charger on since I fitted the mppt why would I bother.

South it's easier for me because it's displayed over time with consumption/load with production/yield. The Victron doesn't display over time (trend) unless you're logged in 24/7 bit hard from a phone that closes the screen.
