In that Vid Sam shows the installation of his Bluetooth ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor/sender,
I though it was pretty neat.
Wireless and no rotating parts.
Not sure how the price ( 549 euro) compares to a conventional unit, but here is a link for those interested.

Does anyone know anything about the wind instrument that he puts on at about 41 minutes just before the end? He doesn't seem to say a brand name. It seems to be wireless with a tiny solar panel which would be really good. My wind direction has stopped working although I still get speed.
