Looking for a second hand main for my Endeavour 26.
A few people, thanks twodogs, have recommended not to use my good racing main for cruising.
I know about sailexchange.
Any recommendations?
I have decided I might want to race the summer series. So better keep it for good.
Plus I didn't know they don't last as long.

They didn't have anyone there by that name.

To share my personal experience:
Just got some quotes for a brand new main for a triton 24 (partial battens, 2 reef lines) from asian sailmakers like ''fareastsail'' and ''leesails''.
Prices were between 450 and 550 USD, free shipping, which is what you can expect to pay to a local sailmaker to recut a used main from another boat (what I wanted to do first).

Would have preferred a local solution but can't afford...

I've got a near new laminate main off a Sonata 8 that would probably fit you, unsure about the foot length 3.5m? . Whatever you think is reasonable is good enough for me.

I think the sanata would be bigger. They are fractional where the endeavour is mast head.

Unfortunately that would probably still be cheaper than having them made here.

I am all for saving money and have purchased items from overseas.
But what will you do when all the local lofts have closed?
Will you send your sail to China for repairs.
I don't mind paying 10 or 20% more to keep an industry and service we all need in Australia. Where you begrudge is double the price. There's plenty of local guy's who will do the right thing by you.
I have been trying to get a dodger made for my boat 3 sydney based mobile guys have had arrangements to come and all were no shows and no answer on phone makes it hard to support them. No one seems to want to do work on Botany Bay .

I know what you mean.
I made a call to a local business to have my rigging checked. I noticed the port lower shroud was loose, and actually flapping a little, when on a starboard tack. That was on Monday morning, and still no reply.
Might have to buy my own gauge and do it myself. Rigging check was going to be $220 plus I had to get the boat to a jetty on a week day. Gauge is around $250 to buy and I can do it on a weekend without taking time off work. Just have to find the tension required for my E26. Which could prove difficult.

Mmate call Colin who I have told you about. He has all that information and there is a book on Endeavour which has the advised tuning.
Leward stays can be loose. Make sure rig is straight. Upper should be tighter then the lowers but the book or Colin will give you all the information you need.

If you follow the measuring instructions very closely it will be a very good cruising sail.
