Does anyone have experience on scrapping an old fibreglass boat in Victoria?

Imagine a typical 25 foot mooring minder that is now growing grass on the deck.

Once you get it out of the water..what's the process?

Do you need to cut it up or do you just rock up at the landfill? And what about cost?

In short, "dunno". I once cut up a f/g dinghy to be able to manhandle it for the hard rubbish day in our municipality.
I remember Gippsland Ports using an excavator to drag a houseboat up the bank, and then crush all the parts and load into a bin, much like demolishing a house.

Obviously, all metal (winches, mast, etc) can be offered on Gumtree, etc and the remainder would be cut or crushed to reduce volume. Getting the lead off or out of the keel would be recyclable and able to be sold.

There's a company that destroys and recycles wind turbine blades in Victoria that might be able to point you in the right direction.

In Victoria "Parks Victoria" recently had a seizure of a number of wrecks on moorings in Hobsons bay and other areas. Quite the bureacratic process.
I saw a photo of all the boats lifited by crane on to a jetty over Portarlington. They are apparently hacked up by a company employed by PV and sent to landfill. So maybe ring Parks Victoria.
