Sounds good to me. We will be following the fleet from Sydney to Hobart on board the Coral Discoverer. We did it 2 years ago and it was great. We pull in to Constitution Dock for New Year's Eve for all the festivities and disembark on New Year's Day. I will give my tips a bit later, but on the forecast at the moment I would have Blackjack for line honours and one if the smaller slower boats for IRC.

Yes my wife and I did it two years ago also.
Really enjoyable.

This COULD be a little boat race.
It would be fantastic to see a mid fleeter take a podium, after all the very tradition of the Syd to Hobart was about these boats. The very first race was intended to be a cruise to Hobart after all
It looks like a race for the naviguessers to either shine or crash and burn!
Best of luck to all the crews, hope you have a great race.

No science her but would back Infotrack for LH in 67 hours with a couple of favourites to retire due to gear failure & Tribal on handicap.
Looking for longer odds even though that makes no difference..
Hope they all have a good one.
Jeff.

We must have been with you. Conditions are much the same this year. My wife thanks it's the only way to do the Sydney to Hobart. I must say I would recommend the trip to anyone.

So the lucky winner pool just shrank, well done to those who picked Comanche for LH, that boat sure is impressive .
the battle for handicap has so many variables...

Well I didn't pick a winner but I did pick that going "way east" would pay off

Jode5's tips for the race
LH. Comanche 41h 15m
H/Cap Ichi Ban

Fingers crossed I'm looking pretty good with Comanche finishing in 42h 30m and Ichi Ban leading IRC and a slim chance of being beaten as the rest of the fleet is now punching the southerly. We were fortunate enough to be at Tasman Island on board the Coral Discoverer to watch Ichi Ban go round this afternoon. They arrived there just in time to get the southerly for the run to Hobart.

Jode if you pull off the win I'd be happy to sacrifice myself and test out Rumblefish's soft shackles for you.

If I'd have been clever enough to win I was going to donate the prize to Don's sail training J24
