Sorry that's what I meant. ...didnt want to offend anyone but it happens.. Years ago when I moved to Australia from nz I brought a few things with me. Music gear. Australian customs charged me gst and duty on it. I had already paid gst in nz. Paid it twice!!
It's the going back the other way too although not much for my tophat and they let you take your time paying.. Here they kept my gear til I paid. Was about $1000 for 2 guitars. An amp and a pair of studio monitors. Plus freight!
That must of been a pain in the arse. So what's your trip plan? Sydney - new cal- New Zealand- Sydney? Have you worked out your "max weight of supplies"? If so i would love to know what it is.
Good luck
Mick
Jervis. South port. New Caledonia. Norfolk island. Opua.
Can carry heaps on the tophat.
I carry 90l fuel. 180l water however I started carrying less water as I don't need all that and the weight of it is under cockpit slowing me down a bit. It last ages. So instead I carry 100l in the tank and 30in Jerrie's stored in keel section with spare anchor and chain . Water is All drinkable.
I keep weight low. Inflatable kayak deflated. Inflatable paddle board deflated. Liferaft.
About 400bucks on groceries.
Few clothes. Guitar. Beer. Whiskey. Para anchor. 60m rope. Surfboard.
Not much really.
