Are there any companies around Pittwater that pressure wash at a swing mooring? The detailers seem only to want marina boats. It's strange that there's almost no one available.

I'm thinking at 2litres a min it's probably not really practical for a detailer they would have to carry a 200 litre drum of water to do 100 mins of pressure washing .
How much water do you hold they could use ?

Quite a lot but I'd prefer they didn't use it. They'd need to have a pressure washer that can use salt water.

I came up with an idea where a diver goes down with a high pressure hose, or some sort of transportable floating dock where your boat could be lifted out of the water at its mooring.

I can see a diver holding onto a water jet going backwards and flapping around at 100 kts holding on for grim death.

Know any one with a Jet ski and access to a fire hose?

As crazy as it sounds, there's a pressure jet for hulls called CavitCleaner. I think Wells Marine are the only guys in Sydney that use it. I'm not sure if they used CavitCleaner on my hull, but they did a really good job anyway.

I use my normal K'Archer running off the deckwash pump and inverter when on the mooring. The salt water is probably not ideal for the K'Archer but it seems to be holding up ok. Just the $90 little one from Bunnings so not the end of the world if it fails.

I did also buy a 10m outlet hose for it and jumped in my pool at home in scuba gear to clean off the block spot, worked a treat. Presumably that would work in the river too but the viz would be atrocious pretty quickly.

I do the same but went for the Gerni version as it is able to suck up water itself, so doesn't need to be fed via a deckwash pump etc (think the larger K'Archer ones do this too but out of the price bracket). I just blow a few litres of fresh water through it after each use and it seems to be lasting ok (~3 years so far).

Try Buffman and Rubbin at The Quays Marina. I believe they have just acquired a tank equipped boat for just this purpose.

I couldn't find any literature on the Gerni to say self priming. I just ordered a Bosch from Qantas Shop with points(can't use them for flying!!) it says it can pull a 500mm head in self prime, still not much head, however hopefully it works for me, power up off my portable Genset from painting project ...
