The next bit is unbelievable but it did happen, followed them back to the main vessel and took photos of them along side, even though no laws had been broken Is this lawful?
This wasn't a one off they where observed noting down rego details of passing tinnies of fishermen.
Recently all anchored yachts in the pontoon area where asked to move .
Considering there was an article in the Cairns Post a few years ago stating secret dredging was going on at night which only came to light as huge ships where coming into Port which normally couldn't get in.
the article also stated the US Navy had ordered ( not requested) for the port to be Dredged to allow their nuclear submarines to come in as they where going to make it their base as Darwin was no longer their choice.
Something is definitely happening in Smith Creek.

Driving back from the boat wed. I heard an interview with an ex Aust. Admiral in essence saying we have sh.t for brains in this country not going nuclear for power and we are spending $50 bill on second class subs. because we can't maintain nuclear.
As of 2017 there were 450plus plants operating around the world with 60 more under construction and here we are sitting on the biggest yellowcake reserves in the world . Reminds me of the story about little jonney being the only one marching in step .( with NZ) .

As a senior energy planner said to me about ten years ago "the irony of stopping the franklin dam is that southern Australia will have to rely on nuclear power"

Maybe they were talking about the song? US navy might be getting a Sing-a-long at cairns? No doubt the Chinese will turn up, despite not RSVPing or letting the public know.

In Nsw all moored vessels and those tied up to wharves etc are photographed once a year by a combined customs/police unit. They zap about in those high speed units with all the seats etc. I asked them about it one day when they came past and photographed my fishing vessel. The bloke reckoned it was just to update their files because some people apparently change their colour schemes!

Then in order to know if people are changing the colour schemes of their cars why don't they photograph all cars as well?
Then again maybe they are photographing all cars and we just don't know about it yet.

Stopping the Franklin Dam had more to do about preserving Wilderness than anything else - which remains a fantastic thing. Unrelated; I do wish we would get nuclear power - and stop coal-fired electricity generation in Australia, and elsewhere, if just to preserve arable lands above.

This is why I kinda love this place., feels like at night on watch looking at nothing, just listening and talking in snatches and being afforded glimpses into others paths and experiences.
