It is ok for the wealthy to sit at home and except the new laws that are slowly strangling the poor souls who sold up and put their life savings into the dream and bought a boat.
maybe the fluoride in the drinking water is doing its job and Pacifying the masses, as we give up our freedom without a murmur.
With the event of technology our 90 days in Nsw will be tracked with great accuracy and there goes your lawful chance to sit back and enjoy your lifestyle that you so heavily invested in , bad luck if your time runs out in summer , who wants to go north then .
Not sure of the law up in QLD but if it is the same you will be in real trouble as you will have to kill 6 months elsewhere.
So I am reaching out to all the liveaboards who do not have a house to go back to , who are surviving on the good will of the water ways officer who turns a blind eye , how do you see your future living on your pride and joy , that is quite quickly finishing off the last of your savings as boats do as you rightfully keep it maintained.
i am quite sure some will say marinas or commercial moorings , and that leads to another burrow that is sure to kill off many more of the money strapped pensioners, I hear the insurance companies are bringing in a new one of proving your rigging is five not ten years old so good luck getting into commercial marinas if you can't afford their crap.
Sure we are scraping by just for now but the writing is on the wall, and we do not have the protection as we would living on shore .

Its slavery. I guess back in the day when you bought a house for 40/50k , no worries. You could see a light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone has their hands in your pockets and no matter what you do they want a piece of you. Only way around it is to play their game, but what if you dont want to? , then youre on the outside and it simply doesnt work. Theyve done well controlling the masses here. Buy a house, massive mortgage, pay 100's of thousands in Interest to the banks. Sell in 10 years, upgrade somewhere ****ter, further out, less mortgage, bigger spread, pay the gov more stamp duty, do it again. hamster wheel. no thanks.

28 days per anchoring 90 days total for the year in the state of NSW , from there you are illegal with a noose of $5000 on your head .
so what do you do? Give the boat away ? I just had my first visit from RMS and warned 28 days with 90 total for the state , I have no idea which way to go.

Oh FGS stop complaining get a real job or three or move to a more receptive anchoring spot like Nimbin .

Move to Queensland mate. Live on your boats as long as you like. Houses up here in Rodds Bay, turkey beach are about 210,000 for a 3 bedroom house. Can pick up 1.5 hectare blocks for about 80-100 grand. Right near the water. Can sail down to platypus bay, Fraser coast, southern Great Barrier Reef, big trip to Moreton bay and Gold Coast. Maybe even a big trip to the Kepples. It's warmer as well. Don't get hit by cyclones so no need to worry.

I think it's because you only have access to state schools and minimal work. I travel for work, a lot of residents are retirees.
