cheers,
I'm looking at a 1982 Duncanson 34 to get from Brisbane to Port Hacking. Would this be similar price?
There's much better boats available than that Dunc in Brisbane. None of my business....just saying.
Re road transporting a boat of that size...it will cost a fortune. You will need a crane and rigger both ends to remove and replace the mast. There's a couple of thousand+ already.
Travelift each end to take the boat out of the water, put it on the truck and then back in the water.
Plus the road transport is not cheap. There are dedicated boat haulage companies. 6ish years ago I used Allboat Transport to move my 26ft Folkboat from Sydney to Brisbane. Incidentally, I was very satisfied. As the boat had damage to the deck, sailing it home was not an option. From my rapidly diminishing memory, I think it was about 2K for a 26ft boat. As the boat you're looking at is over 8ft wide, there will be extra charges payable for its wide-load status. Air height will be a factor as well.
If the boat you buy is seaworthy and well found, have someone deliver it by sea. Personally, after experience buying boats remotely, I am a firm believer in just waiting for the right boat to come up locally. Trust me! You'll save yourself angst and money.
Hope this helps
